HERO

Justine Poole, security guard to the rich and famous, stops an attempted robbery when a car full of hoodlums follows a client home intent on getting inside the house. After a brief gun battle, two men are on the ground and three others are on the run. Justine is hailed as a hero. But the man who hired the thugs isn't impressed. He needs to take out Justine to prove he's still in control. And so it begins - the highly efficient killer vs. the well trained bodyguard. That's the story. In great detail we follow Leo, the hitman, figure out who Justine is and how to get to her, while Justine tries to stay one step ahead of him. It's not a bad book, but the characters are very flat and one-dimensional. It's basically a hitman procedural with no surprises.
