On a hot summer night, Anne and Marco attend a dinner party at their next door neighbor's home. At the last minute, their baby sitter cancelled, so they brought the baby monitor with them and agreed to check on the baby every half hour. This proves to have been a poor decision when they get home and discover the baby missing. What follows is a convoluted story line in which everybody has something to hide. The detective investigating the crime is so lackluster, he's almost a nonentity. This is a fast read, but it probably won't be the best thing you've read lately.
