Betty Rhyzyk is big, bold and bad-ass. She comes from a long line of cops in Brooklyn but now finds herself in Dallas working Narcotics, an overwhelming job anywhere these days, but undoubtedly more challenging when you get closer to the border. When a sting operation goes bad, the first Betty has been the lead on, she's determined to make up for it. As Betty closes in on the bad guys, she discovers someone's been closing in on her as well when proof of a home invasion is found. When she follows a lead into the desolate Texas countryside, the situation turns deadly and Betty finds herself a prisoner of the religious zealot who is the mastermind behind a local drug cartel. I Loved This Book! I like the setting, the humor, the pacing, the action, the attitudes and, of course, Betty. This is Kent's first foray into crime fiction and said to be the beginning of a new series. Bring it on! I can't wait!
