What constitutes a good neighborhood?  Low crime rate, great schools, easy access to shopping, entertainment and outdoor activities are all a plus; but what really makes a neighborhood are the people, right?  The neighbors. The Whitmans swoop into Oak Knoll and take up residence in their newly built home that's far grander than the other perfectly nice houses around it.  While Julia, the wife, struggles to fit in with the local ladies, the husband, Brad, plays his role of bigshot local celebrity.  Their teenage daughter continues being the good girl she basically is, with one difference.  She and the biracial boy next door have taken an interest in each other.  Though these star-crossed lovers proceed with caution, their relationship is soon shattered by outside forces and futures hang in the balance.  This updated tale of Romeo and Juliet is both classic and original.  The characters are well drawn out and as big as life.  The unique narrative adds another element to this compelling, thought provoking story.
