Food is one of the constants in our lives.  We eat for fuel, for comfort, for pleasure.  We eat when we're hungry, when we're bored, lonely, happy, sad, socializing, watching TV or reading.  Hood expounds on what she was eating and cooking at various times in her life from childhood through raising her children and the heartbreaking tragedy of losing a child.  Her stories make you smile, make you remember and make you want to cook and eat all the wonderful food she reminisces about. And you can because she's included recipes for all of them. Hood's stories are very endearing and make you wish there were more of them.  They also make you think about some of your own stories and what you were cooking or eating at the time.  A truly delightful read.
