Ginny Polk's entire life has centered around Louisiana's Greenmount State Penitentiary.  Growing up, her daddy was a guard there and while still a child, she witnessed the execution of the man who killed him.  As an adult, she still lives on prison grounds, spending her days working in the kitchen and most nights with the warden, the man who used to be her daddy's best friend. Ginny took it upon herself to start making the last meals of the condemned prisoners.  She finds out what they want and then does whatever it takes to make that meal a reality.  But not everyone appreciates or understands Ginny's efforts.  When the prison board starts making changes, her whole life is upended and she discovers that some of the people in her life and even her past are not what she thought.  It's impossible not to like Ginny.  She's a scrappy little dynamo with a huge heart.  This novel takes the ugliness of a prison and gives us a unique, beautiful story and an unforgettable heroine.
