LYING IN WAIT

This chilling tale out of Ireland is different than most because the first thing you learn is who committed the murder.  But you don't know why...yet.  A down-on-his-luck judge and his controlling wife, Lydia, now must deal with the aftermath of their actions, something Lydia doesn't seem to have any trouble with, but the judge is forever changed.  Laurence, their sullen, overweight son isn't as slow as he seems and knows something is wrong, even before he overhears his father lying to the police about the night in question.  As a coming-of-age Laurence tries to determine what really happened within his dysfunctional family, he's also struggling to gain some independence from his mother's "Mommy Dearest" style of parenting.  Lydia's fragile mental state is belied by her strength and determination to get what she wants.  You will be pleasantly horrified at the lengths to which she will go to keep Laurence by her side forever.  This one is highly recommended.
