When I was a little girl, I was horse crazy. I read every horse book the school library had. And I guess I'm still a sucker for a good horse story. Mercury is a new boarder at the stables run by Viv and her best friend, Claudia. Viv immediately becomes infatuated with him and dreams of renewing her competitive riding career. Her obsession soon begins creating problems, both at the stable and at home. Secrets and lies abound until, one night at the stable, things culminate into a life-threatening situation. Now Viv and her husband must both deal with the repercussions of their actions. The story isn't really so much about the horse as it is about the fragility of our relationships when we lose our perspective of what's important.
