Boy meets girl. Boy proposes to girl. Boy's mother goes to extreme lengths to keep wedding from happening. So, it's not your typical love story. Emily is sure that Adam is THE ONE. But then she meets his mother, Pammie, who seems to take an instant dislike to Emily. As the days go by, her hatred of Emily escalates, even though she never lets her gentle, motherly demeanor slip in front of Adam. When Emily tries to talk to Adam, he refuses to believe his mother is anything but kind and loving; the problem must be Emily. A battle of wills ensues as each woman tries to win Adam's favor. Is Emily blowing Pammie's behavior out of proportion? Is Pammie a conniving psychopath? Is Adam really worth all this? This wasn't a great read, but it was entertaining.
