RELENTLESS

It's cherry blossom time in Washington, DC, but Detective Brick Kavanagh barely notices as he tries to solve two connected murders, one of which was someone he knew.  In a rush to close the cases, a suspect is arrested but it just doesn't sit right with Brick.  He continues to investigate, even when he shouldn't.  And he's shocked at what he finds.  Wilson may have spent her life working in the criminal justice system, but her experience doesn't carry over into her writing.  The story was OK, but the writing style was very pedestrian.  The dialogue was banal and hackneyed.  If Brick Kavanagh is going to turn into a series, there's lots of room for improvement, but it could happen.
