Four friends venture into the Maine wilderness to go whitewater rafting on their annual girls' trip.  It's not Wini's idea of a relaxing vacation, but she tries to make the best of it.  When one of the women hooks up with their young guide, it creates some friction between the travelers.  But the worst is yet to come when a freak accident leaves the women with no guide and no supplies.  When they spot a fire burning in the cold, dark night, they think it will be their salvation.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  The struggle to survive in the harsh countryside pits the women not just against nature, but against each other, as friendships are pushed to the limits.  While the storyline may seem rather implausible at times, you won't let it slow you down as you keep turning the page.
