Hen and her husband, Lloyd, don't usually do much socializing, but they agree to have dinner at their neighbor's house after meeting them at a block party. As Mira and Matthew give them a tour of their home, Hen has an unexpected reaction to something she sees in Matthew's office - a fencing trophy just like the one that disappeared from a crime scene, an unsolved murder that Hen had been obsessed with. Hen is convinced that Matthew is a murderer and tries to figure out how she can prove it. Unfortunately, a history of mental health issues prevent Hen from being taken seriously, both by the police and her husband. What ensues is a rather macabre ballet as Hen and Matthew gravitate towards each other despite what they know about each other. This wasn't a great book, but it kept you interested. I always wanted to get back to it even after I figured out the big twist. I expected a little more of a punch at the end, but overall, a slightly better than average read.
