Five friends meet for a reunion at a resort in the French Alps where they competed in an international snowboarding competition ten years ago.  One of the group is missing from the reunion though.  Saskia, one of the fiercest female competitors, disappeared the day of the competition and is presumed dead.  And even though it is the off-season, the attendees find it a little strange that there is no one else at the resort, not even workers; just them.  Now they are trapped on the mountain, with no way to contact the outside world and one of them is intent on revealing old secrets and finding out what really happened to Saskia.  I didn't have high expectations for this book, even though it showed up in several places as one to read this winter.  Just another book about secrets from the past being revealed.  And about snowboarding???  But this is a very nicely done debut and above average thriller. The atmosphere, the tension, the way it rocketed back and forth between past and present, makes this one hard to put down.
