It's Christmastime in Minneapolis and the only thing adding up faster than the snow are dead bodies. Two Internet friends scheduled to meet for the first time are found murdered the same night. Just north of the city, a woman discovers two dead men in her basement. An elderly, terminally ill man is taken from his home and an unidentified dead female is left behind on the floor. These seemingly unrelated crimes come under the scrutiny of two of Minneapolis PD's finest and their partners in crime fighting, a group of computer geeks...er, geniuses, known as Monkeewrench. This is the 7th outing for Monkeewrench, whose four members are a varied, unconventional mishmash of personalities that somehow work together. But for me, the real stars are the cops, Magozzi and Rolseth. They are dedicated, honest, hardworking and funny in situations where humor might not always be appreciated, but the only coping mechanism available. It's worth mentioning that P.J. Tracy is a pseudonym for Patricia and Traci Lambrecht, a mother-daughter writing team from Minnesota. Think you and your mom could write a book?
