College professor/geologist, Margie, is about to get schooled by a rambunctious, oversized donkey. Perhaps it's discontent with her present work situation combined with her husband's long absences for his work or maybe it's just a misguided midlife crisis that leads Margie to buy a donkey. She envisions leisurely trail rides and hanging out at the barn with her new best bud, Caleb. Caleb, however, has other ideas. Margie is an inexperienced rider and Caleb has lots of experience getting his way. Margie and Caleb take on the show ring, a nativity scene and the farrier with hilarious and, sometimes, humiliating results. When she's just about at the end of her rope, Margie realizes that maybe Caleb isn't the only one who should be learning something.
