Anna is a former child psychologist who now suffers from agoraphobia. She has insulated herself from the outside world by having necessities delivered, including prescriptions and merlot, both of which she uses a lot. She spends her time on the computer, watching old movies and spying on her neighbors. When she witnesses a woman across the street being stabbed, no one believes her. With everyone, including the police, starting to think of her as a crazy drunk lady, Anna begins to wonder if they're right. It's not a totally original idea, but it's very well handled in the much touted debut. You sympathize with Anna even before you find out what got her to this point. You can see some of the foundations being laid for the finale, but there are plenty of surprises in this well-done thriller.
