Kids and adults alike will be fighting off the snow and cold of January by taking part in our Winter Reading Programs held at all locations of the Huron County Community Library.  Warm up with a good book and earn a prize.

Our Youth Department at the Willard Memorial Library location invites kids to sign up for the program now and join them for a “Blizzard of Books!”  Watch the “snowstorm” grow the more you read!

Besides reading also take part in various themed activities.  The theme for Week #1 is “Minion Madness”.  Stop by on Wednesday, January 11 to get a Minion Tattoo and on Thursday, January 12 make a “stone-pet” Minion craft.  On Week #2 the theme is “Snowmen are cool”.  On Tuesday, January 17 take part in a Snowman roll and draw game, Wednesday, January 18 build a Lego snowman and then create a snowman craft on Thursday, January 19 from 4 to 5:30 p.m.  Week #3 theme is “Where’s Waldo?” All week long find Waldo in the library to earn a small reward!  On Tuesday, January 24 join us for a movie at 5:30 p.m.  Watch with us as a stuffy businessman finds himself trapped inside the body of his family's cat.  Come on Thursday, January 26 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and take part in a scavenger hunt for “Waldo and Friends”.  Earn a treat if you find them all.  The theme for Week #4 is “Weird and Wacky Willard Winter”.  On January 30 at 5:30 p.m. enjoy some hot chocolate with a movie!   See what happens when winter break arrives and a boy and his friends are joined by the new girl in town for a prolonged snowball fight.  Wear a Hawaiian shirt or beach attire on Tuesday, January 31 and get a special treat.  Then at 5:30 p.m. enjoy an animated comedy that features WWE Superstars, providing their own voices while matching up against talking animals.

Story time is held on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.  The theme for January 11 and 12 is “It’s all about bears”,  January 18 and 19 “Playful Penguins”, and January 25 and 26, “Polar Bears and Ice”.
