     March is here teasing us with hopes of spring.  The Huron County Community Library has a lot available to keep everyone busy while waiting on those warm temperatures.  Wear your mask and feel free to come to all four of our locations and browse our collections and choose your books or movies.  Join us also on Facebook Live or Go to Meeting to take part in book discussions and to enjoy all our library programming.

     Cook Up a Storm Cookbook Club is held the last Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m.  Join Judy as she teaches a new recipe or method from the monthly selected title.  Books are available to pick up at the Willard location.  This month on March 31, Judy will feature “The Batch Lady” by Suzanne Mullholland. 

     Monday Reads meets the second Monday of every month at 10 a.m.  On March 8 at 10 a.m. they will be discussing “Hello Girls” by Elizabeth Cobb. 

     Awkward Book Club with Jo meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m.  March 16 they will be sharing their thoughts on the book “American Dirt” by Jeanine Cummins.

     The No Strings Attached Book selection for March at Greenwich is “The Spies of Shilling Lane” by Jennifer Ryan and the Inspirational Book Club at N. Fairfield has chosen “Fireflies in December” by Jennifer Valent.

     Teens join Jo and Mrs. Rogers on March 19 at 3 p.m. to continue the discussion on “One Piece” by Eiichiro Oda.  (This month is Vol.22-24).

     Join Virtual Storytime with Miss Mitzi on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.  and Miss Carolyn on Fridays at 11 a.m.  Stop by Willard or Wakeman for weekly Grab and Go Kits.  The Storytime theme with Miss Mitzi on March 3 is “E is for Elephant”; on March 10 “We Welcome Spring”; on March 17 “Yeah for St. Patty’s Day”; March 24 “The Colors of the Rainbow”, and March 31 “Bunnies, Bunnies, Bunnies”. 

     The theme for Baby Storytime with Miss Carolyn for March 5, 12, 19, and March 25 is “Songs, Stories, and Sign-Language.

     K-Readiness Quiet Book Series is available at our Greenwich location.  Kits are available each week for this series.  Join Miss Jenny on the Facebook video for 9 weeks on Tuesdays at 6 p.m.  The topics will be: March 16, “Let’s talk about it”; on March 23, “Let’s get started!  Skip Counting Kit”, and on March 30 “A Dice Game Kit”.  The series continues in April.

     Magical, Mischievous, Miniature Marvels Kits are available at our Willard location while supplies last.

     March 11 at 6 p.m. “Let’s Make a Leprechaun Trap”.  Miss Char has some fun stories to share and a cool craft.  The kit even has some magic pudding.

     Out and About with the library will be heading to East of Chicago on March 24 at 6 p.m.  Learn how to make a pizza with Miss Jenny.

     Miss Cathy will teach you how to make marble cut paper eggs for spring on March 27 at 11 a.m.  This fun workshop will look at ways to create fun with supplies from home.  Stop by the Wakeman location for some pre-cut paper eggs.

     Celebrate Ramen Noodle Day on Monday, March 29 at 6 p.m.  Kits are available while the supply lasts.    April 4 is actually Ramen Noodle Day but on March 29, Miss Char has a special story and kit to help us learn about Japan and our Favorite Noodles.

     Teen Time is on Mondays at 4 p.m.  On March 8, make DIY trivets/coasters.  You will need a hot glue gun or E6000 glue.  Kits are available at Willard and Wakeman while they last. 

     On March 17 make a “Pot of Gold Slime” while kits are available.  And then on March 29 make a wineglass bunny with Miss Judy.

     Pinterest Crafts are shown on Facebook Live and YouTube.  Pick up your Grab and Go kits at Willard, N. Fairfield, Wakeman, or Greenwich while supplies last.

    On March 4 at 6 p.m. join Judy to create easy divides for drawers and desks.  On March 15 pick up this month’s new spice kit, a packet of Chai spices to try at home.   (There will be no virtual video on this month’s spice).  Learn how to make a desk or bathroom organizer with paper tubes and items from Dollar Tree on March 22 at 6 p.m.  On March 29 at 4 p.m. adults as well as teens will be making the wineglass bunny candle holder for spring.

     “Votes for Women! A Portrait of Persistence” is a special program on Thursday, March 25 at 6 p.m.  Join Barb virtually for a look at the Smithsonian Institute ‘s Traveling Exhibition on the history of the 19th Amendment.  2020 marked the 100 year anniversary of the vote and our poster exhibit gives a glance into the history behind this event and the women’s stories that battled to gain these rights.
