      Allow time in your busy schedules to celebrate the Holiday Season with us at the Huron County Community Library.  At our Willard Memorial Library location we have plenty of activities planned for all ages to add to the fun spirit of the season.

     “Chill Out” Relax and Color in our Community Room on Thurs. Dec. 6 at 6 p.m.  Enjoy a Holiday movie while relaxing with some Winter Adult Coloring.  Also enjoy at snack and warm beverage with us. 

     On Mon. Dec. 10 at 10 a.m., visit with us in our Community Room.  Learn about our Book Discussions and how they work.  Relax and enjoy Meg’s Christmas Book Discussion, “The Gift of the Magi” which will include some Holiday themed adult coloring. 

     Sign-up is required for our “Dulcimer 101” to be held in the Annex on Wed. Dec. 12 at 10 a.m.  Have you ever wanted to learn to play the Dulcimer? Join us for a special session and learn some fun songs to get started.  Dulcimers will be available to use, paid for by The Friends of the Library!

     Holiday Music Bingo will be held on Thurs. Dec 20 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Community Room.  Do you love Holiday Music?  Come test your music knowledge while having fun and winning prizes. 

     Don’t miss out on the Annual Friends of the Library Pet & Family Photos with Santa and Cookie Walk!!!  Come to the Annex on Sat. Dec. 8 from 9a.m.-12 p.m. and 1p.m.-3 p.m.   A professional photographer and, of course, Santa will be on hand.

     Friday Films for December will include: on Friday, Dec. 7 at 12p.m.  “Two young soldiers, Bartle (21) and Murph (18) navigate the terrors of the Iraq war under the command of the older, troubled Sergeant Sterling. All the while, Bartle is tortured by a promise he made to Murph's mother before their deployment”.  On Friday, Dec. 21 at 12 p.m. “Debbie Ocean gathers an all-female crew to attempt an impossible heist at New York City's yearly Met Gala”.  Friday Films are held in the Community Room.

     Teens get in the Christmas spirit by coming to Teen Time.  Miss Jo has plenty of fun activities planned to fill your extra time.  On Mon., Dec. 10 at 4 p.m. Come and make a snow globe ornament for your Christmas Tree.  On Sat. Dec. 15, at 11 a.m. have some fun making DIY Peppermint Vanilla Hand Lotion.  This easy Do-It-Yourself craft would make a great gift.  Bring your friends on Mon. Dec. 17 at 4 p.m. and have fun at our Teen Christmas Party.  There will be games, snacks, and a fun Holiday movie.

     No school means fun at the library!!!  On Fri., Dec.21 at 3 p.m. experience “ The GAME OF LIFE”!  Grades 5-7 are invited to come and play board games, earn prizes – including monetary prizes –and eat pizza with us.  This program is being sponsored by Willard Community Connectors and the Library.

     Our Read to Me Storytime is held on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.  This is an early literacy program featuring music, stories, crafts, and more.  The theme for Wed. Dec. 5 and Thurs. Dec. 6 will be “Winter is Finally Here”; on Wed. Dec. 12 and Thurs. Dec. 13, “Silent Night”; and Wed. Dec.19 and Thurs. Dec.20 “Jingle all the Way”.  There will be no Story Time in January.  Miss Mitzi will return in February with more great Storytime Sessions.

     Kids we have plenty to keep you busy through this month of December.  Drop by the Youth Services Department on Tues. Dec. 11 from 4-6 p.m. for an afternoon of Christmas Craft Fun.  Sign-up is required on Thurs. Dec. 13 from 4-6 p.m.  for special hand-made gifts that kids can make.  Sign-up is also required on Tues. December 18 for “Merry Grinchmas!”  Ages 6-12 are invited to an interactive movie event.  Join us for a unique, interactive look at “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.  On Wed. Dec. 19 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. come and have fun taking part in our Candy Cane Hunt!  Find all 12 and get a surprise!  A special Christmas Hat Craft is planned for Thurs. Dec. 20 from 4:30 -6 p.m.  Celebrate the Holidays by making a Christmas Hat.  Be creative with tinsel and more.

     Thursday, Dec. 27 from 11 a.m. – 4p.m. we will be showing movies all day.  Come warm up and fight boredom with us through free movies on our big screen. 

     The Huron County Community Library will be closed on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25 to celebrate Christmas with our families.
