What’s to love about the snowy, cold forecast for February? Just knowing you can come to the Huron County Community Library and take part in lots of activities and events or find a good book or movie will help you get thru this rough winter month.
Join us for Pinterest Monday at our Willard location Monday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. in the Annex. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, make a wall hanging out of felt roses shaped like a heart.
Relax and refresh on Monday, Feb. 5 with Adult Coloring. Come anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. to spend time with friends as you take part in creative coloring.
Test out your Harry Potter knowledge with our first Trivia Night!! Meet in the Community Room on February 8 at 6 p.m. and we’ll form teams and see who can pass their O.W.L.S.
Friday Films @ Willard are planned for the First and Third Fridays of each month. On Friday, Feb. 16 from 12-2 p.m., Lions Gate films presents a look at the best- selling memoir by Jeannette Walls. A woman reflects on her unconventional upbringing at the hands of her artsy, nonconformist parents. Now married to a man who works in finance in New York, she faces criticism from her parents that she has betrayed their values.
Teen Time is held on Mondays at 4:30 p.m. On Feb. 5, Teens will make a Mini Wreathe. There is a limit of 15 for this activity. Create a Paper Heart Ornament on Feb. 12 and make Origami Blossom Lights on Feb. 26.
Wed. Feb. 14 brings a special Valentine’s Day Party for Teens!!! Join us for games, Karaoke, snacks, and more.
The Teen Winter Challenge ends on Feb. 16th. If you have completed all 6 weeks you have been entered for a chance at the Grand Prize.
For our younger patrons, “Read to Me Storytime” is scheduled on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. On Feb. 7&8 the theme will be “A Tortilla is Round”, on Feb. 14&15 “Friendship is the Best”, on Feb 21&22 “All about Money”, and on Feb. 28 & March 1 “Things that Go”.
Kids be sure to come Wednesday, Feb. 7 and 14 to our Willard location Youth Department for some afternoon fun with Corner Bookmarks. Be creative with us in making different bookmarks.
Kid can also make a Valentine’s Day Craft on Thursday, February 8 and a “Finding Dory” Craft on Tuesday, February 13.
Our Youth will have a special Winter Reading Party on Friday, February 16 at 4 p.m. For those who took part in Winter Reading be sure stop in for cookies and punch while we draw our 2018Winter Reading Winners!!
Plan to visit the library, kids, for a day of free movies on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. as a timid clownfish sets out on a journey to save his son who is captured in the Great Barrier Reef and at 1 p.m. as a forgetful blue tang fish begins searching for her long lost parent.
