     Celebrate Hispanic Heritage at the Willard Memorial Library location of the Huron County Community Library on Nov. 1 at 6 p.m.  Come to the Youth Services Department to enjoy authentic foods, a bilingual story time, and even more during the Day of the Dead. We will also be looking at our new “A to Z World Food” database.  Be sure to join us at this special open house.  There will be something there for everyone to enjoy.

     Are you curious about streaming?  Do you have questions on going cordless?  Join us for a look at some of the free ways the library can help.  Bring your questions on canceling traditional cable subscriptions and opting for streaming options.  This information session on “Going Cordless” will be held in our computer lab on Thurs. Nov. 8 at 6 p.m.

     The Huron County Genealogical Society in Norwalk returns to the library on Tues., Nov. 13 and Thurs. Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. for a two day session of beginning genealogy.  On Tuesday evening in the Community Room there will be a classroom and workbook session.  Then on Thursday evening there will be hands on computer searching in our computer lab with experienced genealogical researchers.  Attendance at BOTH sessions is required and due to limited space, sign-up is also required.

     Have you ever wanted to learn to play the Dulcimer?  Join us on Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. in the Annex for a special session and learn to play from fun songs with music instructor, Johanna Beebe.  Sign-up is required.  Dulcimers will be available to use, paid for by the Friends of the Library. 

     With the holidays so near, take the time to learn the ins and outs of Etsy and Pinterest.  Get great holiday gift ideas at our special “Etsy & Pinterest: Holiday Edition”.  This program will be held on Tues. Nov. 27 at 6 p.m. in our Community Room.

     On Thurs. Nov. 29 at 6 p.m., the library will be having an author from the area visit with us in our Annex.  Come spend time with Cary Ashby, a Norwalk Reflector staff writer and author as he shares excerpts from his debut novel, “Colt Maverick”.  Following the event will be a book signing.

     Get creative on Monday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. in the Annex.  Sign-up is required to make a Burlap Stocking.  Then on Thurs. Nov. 8 at 9 a.m. at the Willard Enrichment Center, make some great stocking stuffers with us.  Bath Bombs and Peppermint Flavored Lip Balm will be a big hit.

     “The Stockings were Hung: Holiday Craft Series” will held in the Annex on Mondays at 6 p.m. in November and December.  On Nov. 19 create Bath Bombs and Lip Balm, on Nov. 26 make homemade hand warmers and on Dec. 3 & 10 two more crafts to be announced later.

     Friday Movies are scheduled for Nov. 2 and 16 from noon to 2 p.m.  On Nov. 2 watch the exceptional life and career of a U.S. Supreme Court Justice, who has developed a breathtaking legal legacy while becoming an unexpected pop culture icon.  And then on Nov. 16 enjoy watching as Sophie prepares for a grand reopening of the Hotel Bella Donna as she learns more about her mother’s past.

     Teens are invited to take part in Teen Time on Mondays at 4 p.m.   On Nov. 5, create a Fall inspired mini wreath.  This craft is limited to 10 so sign-up is required.  Harry Potter Trivia will be held on Nov. 19.  Come test your knowledge with other Potterheads!  Karaoke Night is Nov. 26.  Make plans to come and sing your favorite tunes with friends.  Drop-in on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 11 a.m. to make your own shaving cream made from all natural products.  This craft will be available while supplies last.

     Read to me Story Time takes place on Wed. at 10:30 a.m. and Thurs. at 6:30 p.m.  The theme for Nov. 7 & 8 is “Aww Nuts”, Nov. 14 & 15 “It’s Time to Hibernate”, and Nov. 28 & 29 “Let’s Get a Little Messy”.

    The Youth Department invites you to a movie in the Community Room on Tues. Nov. 6 at 5:30 p.m.  Watch with us as Elastigirl must solve the mystery of an enemy, who has malevolent designs on the world with the Parr family and friends key targets of this evil.

     There will be Cookies and Coloring for our kids on Nov. 8 starting at 11 a.m. while supplies last. Enjoy Zentangles, Zendoodles, and Cookies!!  No School…Let’s Build from 1 to 3 p.m. on Fri. Nov. 9.  Join in on a Lego Competition!  You supply the imagination…we’ll supply the Legos!  Kids go on a Turkey Hunt in the Youth Department on Tues. Nov.13 from 3:30 to 6 p.m.  Find all 12 and gobble up a treat!   “I Love to Write Day” will be Thurs. Nov. 15 all day! Kids come to the Youth Services Department and get a funny photo writing prompt, then write a story and return it by Nov. 19 for a chance to earn a $25 Amazon card.  Hey Kids!!  International Games Day will be held on Saturday, Nov 17 from 1-3 p.m.  Stop in for a Giant Checkers Competition.  No school on Wed. Nov. 21.  Come in and play with clay from 1-3 p.m.
