  1.

It’s September and it’s time to “fall” into step with all that is happening at the Willard location of the Huron County Community Library! Celebrate this weekend’s Car show and TrainFest on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room with a trip through history with vehicles of the Western Reserve. Take a ride through the Western Reserve at the turn of the 20th century and discover a treasure of Cleveland-made vehicles. Then on Saturday, September 9 from 10 a.m. to noon, come to our Annex during TrainFest and take a step back in time. We will be celebrating 100 years of Willard with a look at Homesteading life.

Read to Me Storytime begins again in September on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. The theme for Sept. 6&7 is “Back to School”; on Sept. 13 &14 is “From Big to Little”; on Sept. 20&21 is “S is for Stories” and Sept. 27&28 is “Autumn Colors are Here”.

Kids come and play with playdough on Sept. 12 at 4 p.m. Make different playdough and take some home! On Sept 19 from 4-6 p.m. join us for “Talk Like a Pirate Day”. Make a “Pirate” necklace & practice you pirate lingo. Bring the whole family, kids, on Tuesday, Sept 26 at 5:30 p.m. for Family Movie Night. Watch as two overly imaginative pranksters named George and Harold hypnotize their principal into thinking he's a ridiculously enthusiastic, incredibly dimwitted superhero.

Teens bring your own bottle if you prefer on Mon. Sept11 at 4:30 p.m. and create a “Do-It-Yourself Lava Lamp”. On Sept. 18 at 4:30 join us for a fun game of Balloon Tennis. Just like regular tennis only with a lighter ball. September 25 at 4:30 is Movie Night for our Teens. See The Guardians fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill's true parentage. Join us on September 19, Teens, for Talk like a Pirate Day. Talk like a pirate and receive a treat and also color a pirate mosaic.

On September 14 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room, Tracy Lockhart, of The Olive Scene, will present “Tree to Table”. This program covers the production of olive oil from growing to pressing and tasting. Sign-up is required.

Pinterest Monday will be held on Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. in the Annex. Create DIY Panty Hose Flowers with us.

On Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. in the Annex we will have a special event sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Mary Ann Winkowski who is the author of “The Ghost Whisperer” which is the inspiration for the TV series starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, will be here to talk about ghosts, share her experiences, and more. A book signing will follow her talk about her paranormal investigations.
