Celebrate National Library Week April 23-29, 2023

Most people know about the wealth of stories available at the library, from picture books and large print to audiobooks and ebooks. But there's so much more to the story of libraries.

Libraries are welcoming spaces that bring communities together for entertainment, education, and connection through book club, storytimes, crafting classes, lectures and more. Huron County Community Library offers a wide array of programs, classes and resources; including Hotspots, paper die-cut machines, Roku streaming devices, Launchpad educational tablets and so much more!

And let's not forget about our amazing staff. They all enhance your experience while visiting the Library in person or online. So many things go on behind the scenes like collection development for all ages- staff pour over book and audio visual reviews to hone a collection for everyone who visits the library. All items are cataloged and process so you can easily find the titles, authors, and generes at your local library and in our online catalog. Staff keep our programming fresh and imaginative from storytimes to adult book discussions. Public Services staff great patrons and keep accounts up to date and help with reader's advisory. Our IT Services serve by keeping equipment updated and our network running efficiently; they conduct Northstar classes and help troubleshoot questions when using the library's computers, and assist job seekers with online resources. Our Reference and Outreach staff is busy finding archived information, requesting information from other libraries, and visiting patrons in Senior Living and Rehabilitation facilities. Staff plays a critical role through all they do!

If you haven't checked out our library lately, you're missing the full story. Stop by for a visit to celebrate with us during National Library Week, April 23-29. Follow us on our social media channels at huroncolib for the most current information on our collections, services and programming.
