     Summer is winding down and school is just around the corner but all of our Huron County Community Library locations are still going strong with plenty of activities to keep you busy.

     Join us at our Willard Memorial Library location for the last two sessions of the summer series adventure, “Take an Adventure Around the World in Crafts”.  Come and create a “candle holder” on Friday, August 16 at 11 a.m. and work with “needle felt” on Friday, August 30 at 11 a.m.  Both classes are held in the Willard annex.

     Pinterest Monday will be held on August 19 at 6 p.m. in the Willard annex.  Sign-up is required to create a cute home-decoration mason jar using Mod Podge and napkins.

     Join us on Thursday, August 8 at 10 a.m. at the Willard Enrichment Center for “Craft time with the Library”.  Be creative and make a dragonfly garden stake.  This activity is for ages 18 and up.

     I you love to write or want to start, join our “Writers’ Group” on Thursday, August 15 at 5 p.m.  For more information or to sign up, contract Josh at jfigley@huroncolib.org.

     Every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. bring your computer questions to the Willard Computer Lab.  Jarrad will be here to answer questions, review topics, and more.  Topics include basic computer skills, email, social media, and more.  

Also take advantage of “The Northstar Digital Literacy Assessment” that is offered through the Huron County Community Library.  Bring your questions to Jarrad concerning the assessment and how to earn a certificate.

     Back to School Bingo will be held on Tuesday, August 6 at 4:30 p.m. in the Willard Library Annex.  This will be held during our “CHA Summer Lunches” so you can come and pick up your 7 days of lunches and win some school supplies for the new school year.  

     All ages are invited to join us for a once in a lifetime celebration.  As part of Kids’ Day during the Sesquicentennial Celebration, experience the work and joy of a childhood exploring the skills, chores, and games from times gone by with “Bring the Farm to You”.

    On August 5 through August 10, stop by our Youth Services Department for a fun coloring contest to celebrate the 150 anniversary of Willard.  Prizes will be Willard themed.

     Give your notebook a bit of bling with some diamond art.  Come the Willard annex kids, and make a diamond art sticker with us.

     “Monday Reads” will get together on August 12 at 10 a.m. in the Willard community room.  The group will be sharing their thoughts on the book “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” by Betty Smith.

     Come and join our lively discussions and enjoy a bite to eat with the “Cook Up a Storm Cookbook Club”.  Celebrate our 150 years with us on August 1 at 6 p.m. in the Willard annex.  We will celebrate by cooking from our local cookbooks.

      “Turn the Page Book Discussion” will meet on Thursday, August 29 at 6 p.m.  They will be discussing “Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?” by Agatha Christie.

      Pinterest Monday will be held at out Wakeman Library location on August 26 at 5:30 p.m.  “Sign up is required”.  Come and create a cute mason jar using Mod Podge and napkins.

     Wakeman Cookbook Club will meet on Monday, August 5 at 6:00 p.m.  The group will be using “Come Home to Supper” by Christy Jordan as their cookbook.  Visit the Wakeman circulation desk for a copy of this cookbook, pick out a recipe, and cook something delicious to share.

     Pinterest Monday for our Greenwich location is scheduled for August 5 at 5:30 p.m.  They will be making the decorative mason jars also using Mod Podge and napkins.

     Our North Fairfield location will hold a Pinterest Craft Day on Friday, August 9 at 1 p.m.  Come join us and make a dragonfly garden.

     Kids of all ages are invited to come to the North Fairfield Library to drum to the rhythm of music.  Take part in Cardio Drumming on August 6 and 13 at 4 p.m.

      All Huron County Community Library locations will be closed August 2 for Staff Development.
