     The Summer Reading Program has ended at the Huron County Community Library but all of our locations still have plenty of things planned for everyone to enjoy through the month of August and the start of the school year.

     Join us for our Annual Mind, Body, and Sole 5k on Saturday, August 7 at 8 a.m.  Win prizes and get a cool race packet.  The Race will start and finish at the Willard Memorial Library Annex.  All ages are welcome!  Walkers are Welcome!  Registrations are available at all of our locations and at runwillard.com.  A Free Fun Run will be held for kids following the race.

     Teens join Miss Jo in the Annex parking lot for a fun lesson in Japanese braiding on August 9 at 4 p.m.  Come and learn how to make Kumihimo bracelets and learn some history about the art of Kumihimo braiding.

     On August 23 at 4 p.m. let’s make Unicorn Floam!  Floam is like slime. . .but not.  Miss Jo will help you make your stress relieving floam on Facebook Live.  Kits are available while supplies last.

     Take part with us through livestream play on “twitch” on Friday, Aug. 6 and Aug.27 at 3 p.m.  For information stop by our Teen Room or check at twitch.tv/huroncolib.

     Grab and Go Craft Kits for each of our Pinterest workshops can be picked up at all of our library locations.  Contact your location for more details.

     On Monday, Aug. 9 at 6 p.m. in the Willard Annex parking lot, join us in-person to create your own coil potholder.  Everything will be provided.  Then, on Monday, Aug. 23 at 6 p.m. in the Willard Annex Parking lot, learn how to make an Embroidered case for glasses, scissors, jewelry, etc.

     Join Miss Char in the Willard Park on Tues. August 10 at 1:30 p.m. for BINGO.  Come and win prizes and have fun.

     On August 26 at 6 p.m. Celebrate Tooth Fairy Day with us and catch our video on Facebook.  Stop by and pick a special Grab and Go Kit in Willard.  

     Enjoy a friendly game of Cornhole in our Wakeman location yard on Aug. 4 and 11 at 1 p.m.  Before you leave stop inside and let staff find your next favorite read.  

     Join Miss Cathy on the Storybook Trail at Dalton Park Preserve.  We will enjoy the story “Three Hens and a Peacock” by Lester L. Laminack and some fun activities after the story.  

     Join Judy at the Willard City Park for “Cook Up a Storm Cookbook Club” on Wed. August 25 at 6 p.m.  Enjoy a special “BINGO” edition of “All Time Best Appetizers” by America’s Test Kitchen and “Brownies and Bars” by Amy Glander.

     On August 9 at 10 a.m. “Monday Reads” will share thoughts on “Today We Go Home” by Kelli Estes.  “Awkward Book Club with Jo” will discuss “The Sun does Shine: How I Found Life and Freedom on Death Row” by Anthony Hinton on Tuesday, August 31 at 6 p.m.

     Manga Talk with Jo and Mrs. Rogers will continue with “One Piece” on Fri., Aug. 20 at 3 p.m.

     Take time to visit all of the library locations of the Huron County Community Library and share with us as we “Celebrate 100 years of Library Service”.
