     February is a good month to get creative at the Huron County Community Library.

     Our Willard Memorial Library location has opportunities for all ages to express their creativity.  

     Teens & Tweens are invited to join Mrs. Rogers for a variety of activities and crafts.  On February 1 at 4 p.m. come and make bouncy balls, February 8 at 4 p.m. take part in a snow painting competition, on February 15 at 4 p.m. in the Willard Annex, take part in a translucent stone activity and on February 22 at 4:30 p.m. in the Willard Annex come and learn how to do felting with a special guest from our Greenwich location.  Teen Time is for grades 6 and up.

      Sign Up for our adult workshops at the Willard location in February.  

      On Pinterest Monday, February 12 at 6 p.m. join us to learn how to make a beaded Brooch on felt.  You can also make a bookmark with this method.

     On February 22 at 6 p.m. in the Willard Annex, adults can sign up to create a cutting board recipe holder.  Come make a fun board using decals and paint.

     Join us Thursday, February 8 at 10 a.m. at the Willard Enrichment Center.  Com and create a heart-shaped wreath using a frame and rope.  This activity is available for ages 18 and up.

     Free Dulcimer 101 workshops continue in the community room at the Willard Memorial Library location.  Learn on our dulcimers or come sharpen your skills.  Sign up is required.  Classes will meet on Wednesday, February 14 and February 28 at 11 a.m.

     Do you love to write or want to start writing?  Join our “Writers’ Group” on Thursday, February 15 at 5 p.m.  For information on this group or to sign up contact Josh at  jfigley@huroncolib.org.

     Get moving at the library with free Line Dancing workshops.  Join “The Rockin’ Mammas” at the Willard Enrichment Center on Thursday, February 15 at 6 p.m.  Registration is encouraged so call or sign up at the Willard library location to reserve your spot.

     Tech Thursdays with Jarrad are held in the Willard Computer Lab every Thursday at 6:30 p.m.  Just drop in with your computer questions.

     Bring your little one on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. or Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. to the Willard Memorial Library location and join Miss Mitzi in the Youth Services Department for stories, crafts, songs, and more.  The theme for February 7 & 8 is “Teeth: Take a Bite Out of Storytime” (special guest for Feb. 8 is Dr. Emily Booker), on February 14 & 15 is “We Love Storytime”, on February 21 & 22 is “Let’s Count Our Numbers”, and on February 28 & 29 it is “We are Storytime Artists”.

     A Special Event at our Willard location!!  Come and meet “Bluey”!  Bluey is coming to visit our Willard location.  Bring the family or pictures, activities, and more.  Drop by the community room anytime starting at 5 p.m. through 6 p.m.

     Kids come to the Willard community room on Tuesday, February 20 at 4:30 p.m. and make a snowman using a paint stick.  (while supplies last)  

     Join us for some science fun and make snowflakes in the Willard community room on Thursday, February 22 at 4:30 p.m.  Make a marshmallow snowflake with us and more.

     Leap Day Froggy Fun in the Willard Youth Programming Room on Thursday, February 29 at 4:30 p.m.  Come and have some Froggy fun!  We’ll be sharing fun frog stories, play some games, and having fun with things that LEAP!

     Our monthly LEGO building challenge at our Willard location will be held on Tuesday, February 13 at 4:30 p.m.

     Monday Reads will meet at Willard on Monday, February 12 at 10 a.m. to discuss “French Braid” by Anne Tyler.  

     Cook Up a Storm Cookbook Club” at Willard will get together on Thursday, February 1 at 6 p.m. to be eating and discussing “The Complete Cooking for Two Cookbook”.

     Turn the Page Book Discussion the evening group will meet at Willard Thursday, February 29 at 6 p.m. to share thoughts on “The Number One Ladies Detective Agency” by  Alexander McCall Smith. 

     Little ones bored at home this winter?  Join Cathy at our Wakeman location on Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. till noon for free play.  Come February 7, 14,21, and 28 to meet other kiddos or caregivers and play in the library.

      “Thursday After School” is also held at the Wakeman Library.  You can drop in from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays for fun activities and crafts.  Each week features something new.

     Our Wakeman location has Storytime on Friday mornings at 10:30 a.m.  Bring the youngsters on February 2, 9, 16, and 23 for fun with stories.

     Enjoy a “Blind Date with a Book” at the Wakeman Library.  All February long check be sure to check out our specially wrapped books to be entered in a drawing.  This even is fun for all ages.

     The Wakeman Cookbook Club will be using the Reader’s Digest “Down Home Cooking” for their cookbook on Monday, February 5 at 6 p.m.  Visit the Wakeman circulation desk for a copy and select a recipe and cook something delicious to share.  

     “Who Picked This Book?”, Wakeman’s  book club will meet  Monday, February 12

 at 5:30 p.m.  They will share thoughts on “The Giver of the Stars” by Jojo Moyes.

     Get ready for “Eclipse Day” at the Greenwich Library on Friday, February 16 from 1-5 p.m.  Pick up Eclipse glasses and enjoy fun activities.  Gene, one of the Solar System Ambassadors, will be here to help us create view finders and more!  

     Family Craft Night at the Greenwich library will be held on February 26, 27, and 29.  Drop-in

Anytime after 3 p.m.

     Greenwich’s adult craft night will be Monday, February 5 at 5:30 p.m.  Pinterest Monday will be creating a beaded brooch.  Sign-up is required.

     “Architect Days” at the Greenwich library will be held Wednesdays, February 7 and 28.  Drop-in at the library anytime between 3:30 and 6 p.m. to build your own creations.

     Bring your little ones to Storytime on Fridays at 11 a.m.  Kids can enjoy stories and more on February 2, 16, and 23.

     The Greenwich Homeschool Group will meet on Thursday, February 8 at 11 a.m.  The subject for the day will be “Eclipse”.  

     Join us at our North Fairfield location on the first Friday of each month for a special craft or activity.  On Friday, February 2 at 1 p.m. we will be making a heart-shaped, rope wreath.

     North Fairfield library has “Fiber Arts 101” for all ages. Drop-in on Mondays anytime between 3:30 and 6 p.m. for knitting, felting, crocheting, spinning, and weaving.

       The “Sit and Stitch” group at North Fairfield will meet on Feb. 5, 12, and 26 at the library

 at 10 a.m.  Adults are invited to bring their personal projects and chat with fellow like-minded crafters.

     Galaxy Creations will be held on Monday, February 12 from 3:30 to 6 p.m.  Drop-in for Eclipse Art and other activities.

     Storytime at the North Fairfield library will be held on Wednesday, February 21 at 11 a.m.  Bring the kids for a fun time with stories and activities.

      All HCCL locations will be closed February 19 for Presidents Day.
