     With the coming of the month of November the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons are inching closer.  The Huron County Community Library will be having lots of activities and programs planned that are sure to entertain all ages.

     Join us at the Willard Memorial Library location on Tuesday, November 12 at 6 p.m. in the library community room.  A representative from the Western Reserve Historical Society will be here to speak on the Ohio Presidents.

     Pinterest Monday will be held on November 18 at 6 p.m. in the Willard Library Annex.  Come and make a poinsettia wreath for the holidays.  Sign up is required.

     Pop Up Studio is scheduled for Tuesday, November 19 at 6 p.m. in the Willard Annex.  Join us as we make car freshies, wax melts, and learn about the best Mason jar gift ideas.  Sign up is required.

     Thursday, November 14 at 10 a.m. “Craft Time with the Library” will be held at the Willard Enrichment Center.  With the holidays fast approaching it is time to start sending out those holiday cards!  Join us and create a quilling holiday card.

     The Crochet Corner will meet on Fridays, November 8 and 22 at 11 a.m.  Bring your projects to work with others.  Terry will be available to answer questions and work on projects with you.

     If you are interested in the Dulcimer, join us once a month in Willard for “Dulcimer Wednesdays”.  The group will meet on November 20 at 11 a.m. in the Willard Community Room.  Sign-up is appreciated due to limited space.

     Get moving with the library and take part in our free “Line Dancing Workshop”.  Join “The Rockin’  Mammas” at the Willard Senior Enrichment Center on Thursday, November 21 at 6 p.m.

     Teens (grades 6 and up) join us in the Willard Teen Room on Thursday, November 7 at 4 p.m. to make a Dragonfly Garden Stake.  

     If you love to write or would like to start, join Willard’s “Writers’ Group” on Thursday, November 21

     Bring your questions to the Willard Library Computer Lab every Thursday at 6:30 p.m.  Just drop in with your questions.  Jarrad will be there to answer any computer questions.

     Willard’s “Monday Reads” will get together on November 18 at 10 a.m. to share their thoughts on the book, “The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store” by James McBride.

     “Turn the Page”, Willard’s evening book discussion, will meet on Thursday, November 21 at 6 p.m. to talk about the book, “The Bluest Eye” by Toni Morrison.

     Adults come to the Willard annex on Thursday, November 7 at 6 p.m. and join lively discussion and a bite to eat with the “Cook up a Storm Cookbook Club”.  We will be trying our hand at some of our favorite restaurant recipes with the “Taste of Home Copycat Favorites” cookbook.

     Bring your little ones to the library on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. or Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. for “Storytime” with Miss Mitzie.  Kids will enjoy stories, crafts, songs, and more.   On November 6 & 7 the theme will be “It’s Dinovember”; on November 13 & 14 it is   “ZZZZZ, Time to Hibernate”, and on November 20 & 21 it is “Let’s Talk Turkey”.

     Kids grades K-5 have plenty of activities to keep them busy at our Willard Library location, too.  On Tuesday, November 5 at 4:30 p.m. kids can come to the annex and see what they can make with air dry clay.

     On Friday, November 8 from 1-4 p.m. kids can join us in the community room at Willard for a “No School …Game Day”!

     See “Rainbow Science” in the Willard community room on Thursday, November 14 at 4:30 p.m.  What happens when we add water to skittles?  

     On November 18-23, all day, join in on a “Turkey Scavenger Hunt”.  Solve the riddle, “Why did the turkey join the band?” and earn a special treat.

     Have some science fun with Oobleck.  This will be messy, so dress accordingly.  Come to the Willard community room on Tuesday, November 19 at 4:30 p.m.

     Hey kids!!  Come to the Willard Youth Services Department on Thursday, November 21 at 4:30 p.m. for and Oreo cookie tasting adventure.  Guess the flavor, vote for your favorite, and more while supplies last.  Please note this program contains food.

     And don’t forget our monthly Lego, brick building challenge.  Join us Tuesday, November 12 at 4:30 p.m. for “Brick Bunch”.

     Check out the activities planned for kids at our Wakeman Library location.  “Pop-In and Play” is available on Wednesday mornings from 10:30 to noon.  The dates for the month are November 6, 13, 20, and 27.

     Kids drop in between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays at the Wakeman Library.  Come and enjoy fun activities, crafts, and more on November 7, 14, and 21.  Each week will feature something new.

       Join Cathy at Wakeman on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. for “Storytime”.  The little ones will enjoy stories, activities and more on Nov. 1, 8, 15, and 22.

     “Look What I Cooked”, Wakeman’s Kids Cookbook Club will get together on Tuesday, November 5 at 12 p.m.  Homeschool Families are invited to join and share in “The No-Fuss Family Cookbook” by Ryan Scott.

     Adults, Wakeman Library has things available for you, too.

     On Monday, November 25 at 5:30 p.m. come to the Wakeman Library and join us to make a poinsettia wreath for the holidays.  Sign up is required. 

     “Food for Thought” cookbook club will get together on Monday, November 4 at 6 p.m.  The will be using the book “Dump Cakes or Dump Dinners” by Cathy Mitchell.  Drop by the Wakeman circulation desk and get a copy of the book and pick out a recipe to make and share.

     “Who Picked this Book?” Wakeman’s book club will meet on Monday, November 18 at 5:30 p.m.  They will be discussing the book “Ride of Her Life” by Elizabeth Letts.

     All ages will find lots of activities at our Greenwich Library location.  “Family Crafts” will be held on Monday, November 25 between 4 and 6 p.m.  “Family Crafts” will also be held on Tuesday, November 26 between 3 and 5 p.m.  Sign up is preferred.

     Come and “Explore Everything with Becky” on Monday, November 18 between 4 and 6 p.m.  Kids will have fun with science, math, art, or building.  This is a drop in program.  Projects will range between 20 and 30 minutes.

     “Storytime” is held on Fridays at Greenwich at 11 a.m.  Bring the youngsters on November 1, 15, and 22.

     “Home School Group” will meet at the Greenwich Library on Thursday, November 7 at 11 a.m.

     Adults take the opportunity to get creative.  Our Greenwich location will have Pinterest Monday on November 4 at 5:30 p.m.  Come and make a poinsettia wreath for the holidays.  Sign up is required.

     Don’t miss out on the activities planned at our North Fairfield Library location.  Start by joining us for Pinterest Craft Day on Friday, November 1 at 1 p.m.  This month we will learn about different macramé knots.  Sign up is required to make a macramé bracelet with beads.

     Adults can make their own Candy Corn Wreath on Monday, November 18 at 5 p.m.  Sign up is required.  Pick up your supplies at North Fairfield Library when you sign up so you can paint at home.

     Take advantage of the opportunity to create outdoor art at the North Fairfield Library.  On Monday, November 4 at 4 p.m. come and create Ephemeral Art with nature items.

     Kids bring your friends and “move” with us at North Fairfield.  Take and outdoor scavenger walk on Tuesday, November 19 at 4 p.m.

     Get active on Tuesday, November 19 at 11 a.m. by taking part in “Chair Yoga” at the library.

     “Sit N’ Stitch” is a group that meets at North Fairfield Library on Mondays at 10 a.m.  Bring a project to work on and meet other people to exchange ideas or patterns or even get some pointers.  All handicrafts are welcome.

     Never a dull moment at all the Huron County Community Library locations so mark your calendars and you won’t miss out.
