     The Huron County Community Library has lots of programming planned for the month of September.  Each of our library locations, Greenwich, North Fairfield, Wakeman and Willard have activities to interest all ages.

     Our Willard location invites Teens to join Mrs. Rogers after school on Thursdays.  On Sept. 7 at 4 p.m. create personalized scratch art; on Sept. 14, stop in for a snack; on Sept. 21 at 4 p.m.

make cardboard sculptures and on Sept. 28 at 4 p.m., design your own wood burning art (sign-up is required for this art project).

     Join us, kids, in the Youth Programming Room on Tues., Sept. 5 at 4:30 p.m. for some fun stories with Miss Char and make a fun bracelet to wear or share.  

     International Dot Day is on Thurs. Sept 14.  Come to the Youth Programming Room at Willard at 4:30 p.m. to paint and create a fun cat painting with Miss Char.

     Tues. Sept. 19 is “Dog Man Day”!!  Join us, kids, in the Willard Community Room

 at 4:30 p.m. for games, activities, and crafts about one of our favorite characters.

     Be creative kids! Design a necklace and ornament using tin foil.  Tin Foil Fun will take place on Tues. Sept. 26 at 4:30 p.m. in the Community Room.

     Let’s head to space kids!  Come to the Willard Library Community Room on Sept. 28 

at 4:30 p.m. to create planet lights using ping pong balls, paint, and a tea light.  

     Bring your little ones to the Willard Memorial Library location on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. or Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. for “Read to Me Storytime”.  On Sept. 6 & 7 the theme is “I Love Books-Let’s Read”, on Sept. 13 & 14 the theme is “Apples Grow on Trees”, on Sept. 20 & 21 the theme is “Time for a Squirrelly Storytime” and on Sept. 27 & 28 the theme is “S is for Scarecrow”.

     Adults, join us on Thurs. Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Willard Enrichment Center to create a door hanging flip sign of a scarecrow and a snowman.

     Another adult program will be held on Thurs. Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room.  Sign-up is required for a Pendant Wire Workshop.  We will explore new ways to use wire to create a cute fall pendant or keychain.  

     Sign-up is appreciated for a Pinterest Monday Stained Glass Workshop.  Come to the Willard Memorial Library Annex on Monday, Sept.18 at 6 p.m.  We will be creating our own stained glass art using the trendy Tik-Tok easy at home technique.

     Join Johanna Beebe for free Dulcimer music classes at the library.  September classes will be held on Wednesdays Sept.13 and Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. in the Community Room.  Learn with our dulcimers or come and sharpen your skills.  

     Get moving with the Library at our free Line Dancing workshops.  Join the “Rockin Mommas” at the Willard Enrichment Center for this fun way to exercise.  Registration is encouraged.  September’s class is scheduled for Thurs. Sept. 21 at 6 p.m.

     Do you love to write or want to start writing?  Join our “Writers Group” at our Willard Library  on Thurs. Sept. 21 at 6 p.m.   To get information on this group or to sign up contact Josh at jfigley@huroncolib.org.

     Bring your computer questions to the library during Tech Thursdays.  Jarrad will be at the Willard Memorial Library to answer your questions.  Drop in at 6:30 p.m. on any Thursday.

     “Cook Up a Storm Cookbook Club meets in the Willard Annex the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m.  On Sept. 7 there will be a surprise guest and the theme is “Side-Dishes”.

     “Monday Reads” meets in Willard’s Community Room on the second Monday of every month at 10 a.m.  Join them on Sept. 11 to share thoughts on “The Midnight News” by Jo Baker.

     “Turn the Page Book Discussion” will meet in the Willard Library Community Room on Thurs. Sept. 28 at 6 p.m.  The book they will discuss is “Her One Mistake” by Heidi Perks.

     Join us on Sept. 16 at Doster Plaza from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for another look at all the delicious food and artisans that make Willard and Huron County amazing.  Come visit the Library during this event for a free craft or activity.

     “Who’s Cooking Today?” a Kid’s Cookbook Club at our Wakeman location will meet on Sept.5 at noon.  They will share recipes from “Suppers in a Snap” cookbook by Gooseberry Patch.  A copy of the cookbook can be picked up at the circulation desk.

     Join us at the Wakeman Library on Friday mornings at 10:30 a.m. for Storytime.  September dates for Storytime are Sept. 15, 22, and 29.  

     Kids drop in at the Wakeman Library anytime between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 14, 21, and 28 for after school crafts and activities.  Every week will be a different, fun activity.

     Come join us for a Stained Glass Workshop at our Wakeman location.  The workshop is planned for Mon. Sept. 25 at 5:30 p.m.  Sign-up is encouraged.  Call or stop by our Wakeman location to reserve your spot.

     Wakeman Cookbook Club will meet on Mon. Sept. 11 at 6 p.m.  The chosen cookbook is “A Year with Six Sisters’ Stuff” by Six Sisters’ Stuff.  Pick up a copy of the cookbook at the Wakeman circulation desk.  

     “Who Picked This Book?”  Wakeman’s Book Club is reading “The Keeper of Lost Things” by Ruth Hogan for this month.  They will meet on Monday, Sept. 18 at 5:30 p.m.

     Littles of all ages are welcome to join as at our North Fairfield location Storytime on Wed. Sept.20 at 11 a.m.  Carolyn will be teaching through songs and stories, with lots of fun thrown in.

     Join us at the North Fairfield Library on the first Friday of each month for a special craft or activity.  On Fri. Sept. 1 at 1 p.m. we will be making wood coasters using stencils.

     “Sit and Stitch” continues to meet at the North Fairfield Library.  Bring a project and join other crafty folks for conversation while crafting.  Exchange patterns or ideas.  Dates for getting together in September are: Sept.11, 18 , and 25 at 10 a.m.

     Storytime is back at our Greenwich location.  Our littlest library patrons are welcome to bring their adults and join us for stories, crafts, and fun and games.  Storytime will be held at 11 a.m. on Fridays Sept. 8 , 15, and 22.  Evening Storytime is held on Wed. Sept. 20 at 5:30 p.m.

     Pinterest Monday will be held at Greenwich on Mon. Sept. 11 at 6 p.m.  Sign-up is appreciated.  Join us for a Stained Glass Workshop!

     Are you a teen or adult who likes to play cards but doesn’t always have a partner?  Join our new program at the Greenwich Library.  Each month Becky will be teaching you a different game.  Our first game will be Skip-Bo.  Players of all level of experience are welcome.  First scheduled night is Mon. Sept. 18 at 5:30 p.m.

     Join Chris to discuss your favorite mysteries and thrillers and pick up a new title!  Stop in anytime in September at the Greenwich Library and pick up your copy.  The book for October is “Apples Never Fall” by Liane Moriarity.  The group will meet on Wed. Oct.. 25 at 5:30 p.m.
