When an old hoarder is found dead in his penthouse apartment, the police also find a priceless Vermeer painting missing for years and a monogrammed alligator suitcase.  Both items previously belonged to the Lockwood family and, more specifically, Windsor Horne Lockwood III, also known as Win. Win has no idea how these items came to be there.  Twenty years ago, the suitcase disappeared when his cousin, Patricia, was kidnapped.  Patricia eventually escaped her captors and returned home, but without the suitcase.  The painting was stolen from the university where it was on loan.  The dead hoarder is discovered to be a long-missing suspect in a deadly attack perpetrated by six college kids who thought they could change the world.  Where does the connection to the Lockwood family come in?  Win is determined to find out.  If you've read Coben's Myron Bolitar novels, you're already acquainted with Win, his insufferable, filthy rich, egotistical sidewalk.  While many reviewers were satisfied with the bends and twists in the plot, they didn't like Win.  Yes, he's over-the-top, but that didn't bother me.  I found this to be much better than some of Coben's more recent endeavours.
