No one from town is missing, so the local authorities write it off as someone who fell or jumped from a cruise ship. But Cara Kennedy, a detective from Anchorage, isn't so sure. Everyone in town lives in the same high-rise building and they aren't all happy to have the detective staying among them. Things get complicated when two local boys go missing. Is their disappearance connected to the recently discovered body parts? Yamashita has been writing for Hollywood for years, so it's easy to understand why you can easily imagine her debut novel as it would be on the big screen. Very atmospheric, quirky characters, a little humor, a little romance and an intriguing mystery come together to create a very entertaining read.
