When her husband, Jake, doesn't come home one night, Nina figures it's because of a recent argument they had. But one night turns into several and then she finds out he hasn't been showing up at work either, which is very surprising because Jake is a dedicated physician. Nina's friend, Lily, may have been the last person to see Jake, but she has her own reasons for keeping that to herself. When she finally makes a startling admission to her husband, they decide they're better off if no one knows what happened the last time Lily saw Jake. This was a decent little thriller. The tension ratchets up as you go along and includes a couple interesting twists you may not see coming. Told from two different perspectives, it's a quick read that'll keep your interest.
