GIRLS AND THEIR HORSES

A stable in Southern California is the focal point for this novel about a family with more money than they know what to do with and a family that doesn't know what to do now that they don't have money.  Heather had to give up the horse world she loved when her father left.  Now she wants to give that world to her daughters, whether they want it or not.  Pamela is trying desperately to keep her daughter sitting pretty in the barn hierarchy even though she needs new horses they can no longer afford.  Barn moms, mean girls, a narcissistic trainer and his unbelievably handsome top rider navigate the sometimes conflicting worlds of horses and family until someone turns up dead.  It may not be great literature, but a book about horses and rich people's problems makes for a great guilty pleasure read.
