Probably every woman has thought the world would be a better place if women ran things. In a not-too-distant future Great Britain, they do. To reduce crimes against women, men over the age of 10 must wear an electronic tag and they have a Curfew, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Sarah's husband is in prison for breaking Curfew and she's glad. Unfortunately, he's due to be released soon. Their teenage daughter, Cass, resents her mother for the role she played in sending her dad to prison. Cass thinks Curfew is wrong and doesn't let it stop her from finding a boyfriend her mother knows nothing about. Helen wants to start a family and hopes to get approval for her boyfriend, Tom, to move in with her. These lives all intersect in ways they couldn't have anticipated and culminate with one of them being found dead in the park. So does Curfew work? I'm not usually a big reader of fantasy, magic or "What if?". I tend to prefer reading about cold, hard reality, but this book exceeded my expectations. Yes, there's definitely flaws in this plan, but it made for an interesting escape and made you go "Hmmm".
