A Friend Remembered - A new addition to the Storytime Room

Submitted by Cody Smith on

Suellen Jacobs was the Children's Librarian at the Willard location of the Huron County Community Library. She was an avid reader and an advocate for libraries. But she was also an advocate for her community. Suellen truly embodied the idea that #LibrariesTransform. Suellen passed away before our complete renovation to the Youth Services Department, but thanks to many generous donations, she has a presence in our new Storytime Room.

New Year - New Hours

Submitted by Brian Warren on

As a result of community input, the library’s operational hours will be changing at our North Fairfield, Wakeman and Willard locations in January.

Focus Groups indicated a need for evening and Saturday hours in North Fairfield.  While Wakeman participants said they would like the library to be available when other village businesses are open.  Additionally, Willard will be opening one hour earlier on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, while remaining open an hour longer on Thursday.

From the Director's Desk - November 2016

Submitted by Brian Warren on

The year 2016 will be marked in the annals of the Huron County Community Library as a year of physical change, in both our buildings and in personnel.  Our Willard location completed a major renovation to the interior of the library, and a facelift to our Myrtle Street entrance along with the construction of a much needed Annex across the street.  We thanked Gail Cummings and Don Gallion for their years of dedicated service, and wished them only the best in their retirement in December of 2015.
